How long does it take?

After Lessons 1 & 2

You'll know around 6 to 9 Beginner Moves and you'll be able to dance through a whole song by rotating between the moves one at a time.

After 6 Lessons

You'll know around 12 to 18 Beginner Moves and be comfortable dancing to various music in free-style and social environments by choosing randomly between the moves you've been taught. You'll also know some funkier moves with some sits and leans that look pretty specky when you're out dancing in front of your friends.

(The Next Step)

The next step from here is what we call Intermediate Level. Once you know your Beginner Moves and are using some of the other Basic Concepts about Modern Jive that you learn along the way, one of our teachers will promote you to Intermediate Classes.

Most of the FUN STUFF!!!!! from DIPS / DROPS / LEANS / FUNKY MOVES / BASIC LIFTS / FUNKY FOOTWORK / STYLING and even CLOSE MOVES in our Special Jive by Night Up-late Classes are all taught at Intermediate Level.

Almost all people can get to Intermediate Level just by attending classes regularly and we help you all the way along to get you there as soon as possible, but if you're really keen to improve in the fastest possible way read on about our "FAST TRACK" Beginner Program.

"Jive by Night" has an Online Beginner Video Training Program called "Fast Track" which shows you Videos (Online) of the last 12 to 16 Beginner Moves that you've learnt.

By watching these videos at work or at home (even without practicing) you'll commit these moves to memory much faster than you would have otherwise and therefore as Modern Jive is initially very "Move Based" you'll learn to learn to dance at a much faster pace with this kind of assistance.

Monthly Pass (Unlimited)

Repetition is the other main way of learning fast which is why we introduced the Monthly Pass (Unlimited) option. With this pass you are able to come to as many class nights as you like for an entire month which comes together with "Fast Track" for only $50 is unbelievable value to learn how to dance.

You are however always more than welcome to come casually for $12.00 a class night.
